Your Media

If you were reading Al Jazeera.com today, you would have read the leading story about a a murdered Chechen rebel leader, accompanied by a gruesome picture.
But if you were reading CNN.com, you would have learned in the leading story that Bill Clinton is soon to recieve a surgery to remove scar tissue.
This is just one of the many examples of U.S. main stream media focusing on the United States, and whatever country we're currently occupying, while most overseas media outlets focus on the world at large.
Which news would you rather read? A report about the auctioning of an antique dime, or an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council's ambassadors over the situation in Darfur and in southern Sudan?
Human interest pieces can be interesting occasionally, but I would personally much rather hear about what is actually going on. Wouldn't you?
