Dem Toilet Tax

Just when I thought I'd heard everything, Dem Sen. Al Lawson of Florida has proposed a 2 cent-per-roll tax on toilet paper to pay for wastewater treatment and upgrading of sewer systems. Read about it here in a Yahoo News AP story.
"They're experiencing a tremendous boom in growth and they're not able to accommodate the growth," Lawson said. "We've got 17 million people in this state and all of them can contribute to protecting our underground water supply."
Republicans, having better sense, want to flush the idea.
Gov. Jeb Bush said that if toilet paper were taxed, it might be used less.
He noted: "That's not necessarily a good thing."
Leave it to the Dems to be creative about another tax. Now they've reached the bottom.
