Arabs Protest for Trade with Israel?<br>

Wow. What has George Bush done. Tom Friedman, he of the Slime, is telling stories about <a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2005/03/13/opinion/13friedman.html?th=&pagewanted=print&position=">what Bush has wrought</a>.  Protests by Egyptian workers in two cities who were shut out of a trade deal with Israel because they weren't zoned for the benefits. Wow again. Arabs, screaming in the streets, to be INCLUDED in a deal with Israel. What kind of a miracle worker do we have in that oval office?<br>

Now, Tom gives Bush no credit whatsoever. He and the Slime's plot is to co-opt the move to democracy as THEIR idea. Provide economic incentives to trade and Arabs just become like the rest of us. They forget religious prejudice for economic opportunity. Yet as Tom's plot thickens, he predicts a slow go for the middle easterners to embrace democracy. Of course this is the same guy that predicted 100,000 Americans dead in Iraq, quagmires and failed elections. So don't be surprised if the Arabs take to democracy like a Democrat to an entitlement. But read carefully and enjoy Bush's victory. His presence is felt between every line.<br>
