Religious Fatwa Against Bin Laden

It looks like Bin Laden is getting some heat from some of Islam's religious leaders
"Inasmuch as Osama bin Laden and his organization defend terrorism as legal and try to base it on the Quran ... they are committing the crime of 'istihlal' and thus become apostates that should not be considered Muslims or treated as such." The Arabic term 'istihlal' refers to the act of making up one's own laws.

This "Fatwa" came from 200 mosques in Spain (70% of the mosques in the country) and it looks like it may be gaining support from clerics in Morocco, Libya and Algeria. It looks like the war on terror may have a light at the end of the tunnel.

He called it an unprecedented condemnation of bin Laden. "We felt now we had the responsibility and obligation to make this declaration," he said in an interview.

"I hope there is a positive reaction from Muslims," he added.

"We don't get involved in police affairs but we do feel that all Muslims are obliged to ... keep anyone from doing unjustified damage to other people."

Only time will tell whether or not this tranlates into more aggressive action against Bin Laden and his minions. Although we must remain optimistically cautious as to how this could help our allies fighting against terrorism (or as the MSM prefers to call them, insurgents) and cut off funding for the dillusional Osama and his gang. Selah!
